Reasons for Republican Disarray

With a few days to go to the election, polls seem to be favoring the Democrats. Whether those trends will continue through the election remains to be seen.

If talk radio has anything to say about it, (pardon any unintended pun you get from that) the trends will change. I was out in the car this afternoon and decided to listen.

In 2004, Republicans won by scaring voters that if a Democrat won the terrorists would attack us at will. They did so through the incessant drumbeat messaging of talk radio.

In 2008, Republicans are attempting to win by scaring voters that if a Democrat wins our government will be converted to socialism and terrorists will practically holding cabinet positions. Those who follow the internet and use sites such as FactCheck.org already know these charges are false. Republicans must be hoping the voters who come to the game late will not learn that truth until after the election is over.

I was thinking today of one of my sales techniques. You ask for the order and the client objects. You say, if that weren't an issue, would you buy this. Usually, the client will come up with something else that's keeping them from buying. When the client finally bows up his back and refuses to give you another objection, you know you've finally found the deal breaker. Well, let me try this in reverse. If all you have to keep you from voting for Obama is that he associates with terrorists, is a socialist, or will raise everyone's taxes, then you have nothing. Every third party independent investigative group has said those things aren't true. So, you got nothing. If you don't want to vote for him, then show me another reason than the ones named above.

Oh, and if you continue to believe if those things are true, then please contact me. I've got some ocean front property in Western Nebraska that would be wonderful for someone like you.

Here are two articles analyzing Republican disarray at this late date in the campaign.
